Celebrate Halloween with some delightfully spooky events in Calgary

The weather has gotten cooler, the leaves on the trees have changed colour and pumpkin spice lattes are being served up at cafés everywhere. In addition to traditional activities like trick-or-treating and pumpkin carving, Calgary has some delightfully eerie events coming up to help you celebrate Halloween.

Ghosts and Gourmet

Heritage Park Historical Village is well-known as an attraction that allows visitors to experience the living history of Calgary dating back to the 1860s. Considering the long history of the park, there’s a good reason to believe some spirits may still be occupying the preserved heritage buildings that recall the city’s pioneering past.
On October 30, 31 and November 1, the park will be hosting Ghosts and Gourmet where guests will get to enjoy a delicious dinner followed by a spooky tour of heritage buildings. Attendees will hear ghostly tales from history and rare stories about the supernatural goings-on witnessed at the park. Tickets can be purchased on the Heritage Park website.

Screamfest

If you’re a fan of horror movies and love the thrill of jump scares then Screamfest is the Halloween experience for you. Boasting a number of very scary haunted houses, rides and games, Screamfest is one of the largest Halloween events in the country. As the name suggests, this event aims to make you scream so be prepared to be scared!

Dracula: The Bloody Truth

In the spirit of Halloween, and as part of their mystery series, The Vertigo Theatre presents a comedic take on one of popular cultures most famous monsters. Dracula: The Bloody Truth offers a comedic spin on Bram Stoker’s classic vampire tale, and aims to tell the true story of Dracula from the perspective of Professor Abraham Van Helsing. The play will run from November 10^th to December 9^th.
